How does Botox treatment work?
Facial expressions such as anger, worry and surprise are a part of everyday life. As we grow older the muscles that pull these expressions become overactive.
When you are in your 30s these overactive muscles start causing visible lines and wrinkles on your face. Namely, frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet around the eyes. These are signs of aging.
We inject Botox into these facial muscles. Botulinum toxin blocks the impulses to these overactive muscles and does not allow the muscles to contract. This relaxes the wrinkles and gives your skin a smoother and shinier appearance.
We can also inject Botox into the chin, jaw and neck muscles. This gives you a ‘Mini Facelift’ or ‘Botox Facelift’. When we use Botox along with dermal fillers for face lifting, we call it a ‘Liquid Facelift’.
